The Bulldogs scored 24 unanswered points after the Aces pulled ahead by two points, 8-6 for the year's first victory.
"It was a great first game for us," freshmen coach Gabe Angelly said. "We played well on both sides of the ball. Our defense only allowed 14 points to a Mt. Carmel team that has played junior football for years. That speaks volumes on how well this team prepared for this game."
Daniel Lewis scored first, from four yards out for Harrisburg to take a 6-0 lead in the first quarter
In the second quarter, Mt. Carmel took an 8-6 lead on a six-yard run and converted the two-point try.
From there, it was all Harrisburg.
Chis Walle took a fumble recovery 25 yards and was tackled on the three-yard line. On the next play, Brady Mayer kept it himself, while Blake Buchanan converted the two-point play.
Nick Davis added a big interception in the endzone with 1:30 prior to the close of the first half to save a touchdown.
In the third quarter, Zac Smith had a 54-yard TD run to make it 20-8.
Harrisburg converted on a third and 19 in the fourth quarter with a 26-yard run by Lewis that put him at the two-yard line before Braden Walker scored on the next play to put Harrisburg up 26-8.
After the Aces scored on a long toucdown run, the Bulldogs closed out the affair with a Davis 34-yard run.
