</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Helen Lucille (Butts) Butler, 85, Harrisburg, passed away on Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
She was born June 6, 1925, in Marion to the late Monroe Harrison and Sally (Price) Butts. She married Jonah Butler, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 17, 1977.
Helen worked at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, Ind., where she retired as a registered nurse. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Harrisburg and the Eastern Star.
Surviving family members include a sister, Alma Lucinda (Butts) Lyerla of Casa Grande, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David Butler; sister, Vergie (Butts) Choate; and a brother, Arthur Emerson Butts.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Marion. The Rev. Jimmy Dale Lambert will officiate. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel. For those who wish, donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
