Albert Clifton Kidd

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Albert Clifton Kidd, 83, Carrier Mills, died 12:40 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

He was born May 18, 1927, in Saline County to Berton and Maude (Bridges) Kidd. He married Beulah Mae Turner on March 6, 1948.

He was a Marine and retired from the United Mine Workers of America and operated Kidd Transfer and Trucking. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Carrier Mills and American Legion Post No. 364 of Carrier Mills. He enjoyed spending time with family, fishing and camping at Kentucky Lake.

He is survived by two daughters, Melody Sexton of Carmi and Melinda (Rod) Wolf of Harrisburg. He thought of his sons-in-law, Joe and Rod, as his own sons. He is also survived by a brother, Lee Kidd of Carrier Mills; and two grandchildren, Meredith and Micaylen Wolf.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Kidd; two sisters, Margaret Swan and Violet Cosgrove; and a son-in-law, Joe Sexton.

Visitation is 10 a.m. to service time at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010, at Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Harl Cockrum officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg with military honors by the Carrier Mills and Harrisburg American legions.

The preferred choice of remembrance in lieu of flowers is memorials to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
