Michael Edward Searcy

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Michael Edward Searcy, 57, of Harrisburg, passed away at 6:40 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010, at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home. Michael was born in Evansville, Ind., on July 15, 1953, to the late Obie and Tommie Searcy.

On Feb. 19, 2000, he married Auna Arms and she survives. Michael was a sergeant with the Sheriff&#39;s Department in Nashville, Tenn., where he served for 17 years. He was a member of the St. Joseph&#39;s Catholic Church in Equality. He was also a 4th degree Knight of Columbus.

In addition to his wife Auna, Michael is survived by two step-children, Emily Waller of Harrisburg and Kate (Trey) Freeman of San Diego, Calif.; three stepgrandchildren, Aurelie Eve of Harrisburg and Ethan Freeman and Layla Freeman of San Diego, Calif.; mother and father-in-law, Grover and Betty Sloan of Harrisburg; and several aunts, uncles and cousins in Tennessee survive.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg with a Knights of Columbus Chalice Service to begin at service time. Wendel B. Arms will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Harrisburg Knights of Columbus.
