</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Betty R. (Schmittler) McNew, 84, McLeansboro, died 6:57 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, 2010.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation is noon to service time Thursday at the funeral home.

She was the widow of Woodrow McNew. She is survived by a son, three daughters, three brothers-in-law, seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
