</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Vernon J. Morris, 90, McLeansboro, died 4:20 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at McLeansboro Health Care and Rehab Center.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery with graveside military rites by American Legion Post No. 106 of McLeansboro. Visitation is 11 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, the former Thelma Louise Lowrey; a daughter; a son-in-law; two grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters.
