Orpha Marie Dailey
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Orpha Marie Dailey, 92, passed away at 8:20 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born on March 16, 1918, in Harrisburg, the daughter of John E. and Cora Pearl (Tucker) Ewell.
She married Filbert Dailey in September 1943. He passed away in May 1983.
Marie worked at Olin Corporation during World War II and then was a homemaker. She loved flowers and enjoyed being with her family. She was very proud that she was named after her grandmother, Orpha Soward Tucker.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Sam Knight of Dorsey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Charles Ewell; and three sisters, Icelee Duncan, Nettie Renfrow and Audie Kelly.
Visitation was 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to Spring Valley Cemetery in Harrisburg or the First Baptist Church of Rosewood Heights.
