Margaret Williams
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Margaret Williams, 89, Carrier Mills, died 2:25 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2010, at the Harrisburg Medical Center.
She was born on Aug. 10, 1920, in Stonefort, the daughter of the late Charlie and Rilla Stone Blackman. She was married to Leroy Williams on July 9, 1938, and he preceded her in death on May 18, 2010.
She was a member of the Main Street Church of God in Carrier Mills.
She is survived by a daughter, Reda Fitts of Carrier Mills; two sons, Charles (Sandra) Williams and Dale (Tampra) Williams, both of Carrier Mills; four grandchildren, Melissa Williams of Carrier Mills, Tina Bigham of Williamstown, Ky., Nicholas Williams of Marion and Erin Williams of Carrier Mills; and two sisters, Magaleen McMillen of Decatur and Kathleen Hoffman of Rantoul.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents and husband, by five brothers, Cletis Blackman, Charles Blackman, Denver Blackman, Ishmel Blackman and Eugene Blackman; two sisters, Maxine Phelps and Gladys Tanner; a niece, Faye Evans, who was raised in the family home; and a son-in-law, J.B. Fitts.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Harl Cockrum officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Tuesday until the service time.
In lieu of flowers, the preferred choice of remembrance would be memorials to the Carrier Mills United Methodist Women. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
