Sylvia Jean Jones

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mrs. Sylvia Jean Jones, 84, resident of Mount Carmel, formerly of Eldorado, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Oakview Heights Rehab and Continuous Care in Mt. Carmel with her family by her side.

She was the widow of Ferrell Jones, who preceded her in death.

Sylvia was born in Equality on May 26, 1926, the daughter of the late Henry and Maude (Pantier) Mahan.

She was a member of Equality Social Brethren Church.

She worked as a licensed practical nurse at Pearce Hospital prior to retirement.

Sylvia is survived by a daughter, Karen (Charles) Ensminger of Mount Carmel; a son, Larry (Pam) Koker of Logansport, Ind.; five grandchildren, Alice Broster, Troy Ensminger, Jackie Koker, Justin Koker and Jeannie Jared; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; and neice and nephews, Pat (Erman) Lane of Junction, Gary (Pam) Morris of Elizabethtown and David Mahan of Equality.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Woodrow, John, Henry and David; and three sisters Madiline Morris, Corine Morris and Ethel Forester.

Funeral services will be held at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, with the Rev. Marshall Glover officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Visitation is noon to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
