Stella Mae (Johnson) Howell

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Stella Mae (Johnson) Howell, 79, Harrisburg, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Visitation was at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2010, and funeral services was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010. Burial was at Masonic Cemetery in Cypress.

She was born March 25, 1931, in Cypress, the daughter of Walter and Ethal Masey Johnson.

She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. She was a nurse in Kenosha, Wis., during the &#39;50s and &#39;60s. She then moved to Kankakee, where she worked at General Food Corporation until 1971, when an auto accident forced her to retire. She then moved to Harrisburg and became a caregiver to many.

She is survived by five children, including two daughters, Carolyn White of Kankakee and Paula Olena of Harrisburg, and three sons, Art Britt of Kankakee, Dennis (Diane) Britt of Eldorado and Eddie Denham of Harrisburg; 10 grandchildren, Larry White, Marty and Terri Olena, all of Kankakee, Laura (Eddie) White DuMontelle of Grant Park, Scott, Jada and Kari Britt and Jennifer (James) Denham Dismuke, all of Harrisburg, and Blake and Bradley Denham of South Bend, Ind.; 11 great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Melissa, Jacob, Jasa, Zoe, Sophia, Lexi, Savier, Monet, Jocelyn, Jayden; a sister, Betty Jean Fisher of Kankakee; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, William, Truman, Carl Dean and Charles Johnson; and a son, Stewart Britt.
