Benny L. Dozier

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Benny L. Dozier, 68, of Shawneetown died peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

Benny was born in Harlan County, Ky., on July 22, 1941, to the late Everett and Sudie (Brock) Dozier. Benny was married on Nov. 16, 1964, to Brenda Joyce (Lewis) Dozier.

Benny was retired from the coal mines after 31-plus years with the Peabody Coal Company. He was a good husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed.

Benny is survived by his wife, Brenda Joyce Dozier of Shawneetown; a son, Benny (Norma) Dozier Jr. of Shawneetown; three daughters, Cindy (Mark) Frailey of Shawneetown, Joy (Brad) Schrieber of Evansville, Ind. and Cheryl (Sonny) Hazel of Shawneetown; two brothers, Jim Dozier of Kentucky and Buddy Dozier of Florida; four sisters, Bobbie (Charlie) Moore of Shawneetown, Phyllis Dozier of Shawneetown, Margie Hinley and Sharon Robbins of Shawneetown; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two special nephews, Louie and Kenny Edmonds.

Services for Benny will be starting at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown. The family will receive friends after 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Bob Powell will officiate and interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery near Equality.
