Dan L. 'Fate' Reeves

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Dan L. "Fate" Reeves, 93, 304 Oak St., Carrier Mills, died 2:10 a.m. Sunday, July 18, 2010, at the Shawnee Rose Care Center, Harrisburg.

Graveside memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Spring Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Leroy Hicks officiating. There will be no visitation; friends should go directly to the cemetery. Arrangements are in the charge of Felty Funeral Home, Carrier Mills.

He was born on June 21, 1917, in Lovely, Ky., to the late Daniel and Goldie (Timmons) Reeves. He married the former Louise Dallas on Oct. 21, 1938, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 2, 1949. He then married the former Marguerite Farthing on Dec. 16, 1966, who survives.

He was a retired coal miner.

He is survived by his wife, Marguerite Reeves of Carrier Mills; two sons, James Thomas (Paula) Reeves of Carrier Mills and Danny Reeves of Salem; four stepchildren, Nancy Davis, Molly (Tony) Di Giovanni, Jim Dunn and Cathy (Denny) Felty; two daughters-in-law, Karen Reeves and Liza Dunn; a sister-in-law, Glenda Reeves; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Rodger Reeves; a stepson, Mike Dunn; two brothers, Leslie Reeves and Jewitt Reeves; and a sister, Louise Hunter.
