Robert C. Booten

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Robert C. Booten, 95, Harrisburg, passed away at 6:45 p.m. Monday, June 28, 2010, at his home.

He was born on Aug. 1, 1914, in Saline County to the late Joseph Carroll and Effie Jane (Hull) Booten. On Aug. 3, 1935, he married Mabel L. DeNeal, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 7, 2005.

Robert was a farmer and carpenter; he worked as a maintenance man at the Alcoa fluorspar mine. He was also a retired Social Brethren minister.

Surviving family members include his daughter, Jane Rose (Wilson) Holland and husband Chuck of Gilbertsville, Ky.; son, Larry Booten and wife Connie of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Tony Wilson and wife Pam of Harrisburg, Terry Wilson and Julie (Booten) Conner and husband Joe; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and a daughter, Carol Lee Booten.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Charles Curry will officiate. Interment will be in Blockhouse Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
