Bette J. Wargel

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Bette J. Wargel, 76, of Equality, passed away at 4:35 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg.

She was born in Alton on June 20, 1934, to Claude and Maude (Yocum) Moore. Bette married Cletus C. Wargel on June 6, 1953.

Bette is survived by her husband of 57 years, Cletus C. Wargel of Equality; six children, Cyndy and Nick DeVous of Mt. Carmel, Susan and Donnie Bryant of Carmi, Tony Wargel of Equality, Pam and Stacy Wenzel of Junction, Beth Wargel of Equality and Tim and Kristina Wargel of Evansville, Ind.; one brother, Billy and Margaret Moore of Oneonta, Ala.; one sister, Mari Lou and Gordon Smith of Carrier Mills; 15 grandchildren, Charissa and Bill Reeves, Nichole and Andy Like, Sam Devous, Nathan Aslinger, Michael and Mel Aslinger, Garrett and Michelle Wargel, Emily Wargel and Japheth Rush, Jerome Wenzel and Staci Lutes, Colt and Lane Wenzel, Cody and Amanda Williams, Christie Williams and Payton Haney, Kyleigh Williams and Shannon Troutt, Hannah Wargel, Zachariah Wargel and Maddy Grace Wargel; nine great-grandchildren, Luke Reeves, Jillian Reeves, Ava Like, Ella Like, Zeb Like, Mayson Aslinger, Davis Lutes, Colden Wenzel, Kailyn Williams; four nephews, Michael and Sally Smith, Phillip and Kathy Moore, Richard and Myrna Moore and William and Myra Moore.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, C. Douglas Wargel; two brothers, Claude Moore Jr. and Robert Moore; two grandchildren, Ivy DeVous and Zane Wargel; and one daughter in law, Laine (Cox) Wargel.

Visitation for Bette will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010. As per her wishes she will be cremated and her ashes will be interred at the St. Joseph Cemetery near Equality at a later day. Memorials in Bette&#39;s memory may be made to VNA Hospice of Eldorado.
