James Orval Brantley

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[James Orval Brantley, 65, of Galatia, passed away at 11:55 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 9, 1944, in Saline County to the late Orval and Lucille (Hawkins) Brantley. James was married to Sandra (Douglas) Brantley and is a retired coal miner, retiring from Peabody Will Scarlet Mine. He was a Baptist by faith.

Surviving is his wife, Sandra; one daughter, Michele (William) Gibson of Galatia; three sons, Mike (Tracie) Brantley of Harrisburg, Larry Brantley of Galatia and Daniel Brantley of Harrisburg. There are seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one sister and three brothers.

He was preceded by his parents; a son, Steven Brantley; and a brother, Larry Brantley.

A private memorial service will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to VNA Hospice. Arrangements are in the charge of Sloan Funeral Home, Galatia.
