Betty June Abney Wood

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Betty June Abney Wood, daughter of Kenneth "Skinny" and Lee Abney of Galatia, passed away May 25, 2010.

Betty was born July 2, 1930 in rural Galatia. She attended Bond Grade School, Galatia High School in the Class of 1948 and Southern Illinois University. Her marriage to Arthur James Wood of Collinsville happily extended for 55 years. During retirement they lived at 587 Bayshore Drive, Colony Cove South, Ellenton, Fla., 34222.

To this union two children, Kay A. Nolte of Peoria and Andy L. Wood of Gulfport, Miss., were born.

Betty was preceded in death by a grandson, Dannett Starbuck Wood, and her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Art; daughter, Kay; son, Andy; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Interment was in Ellenton, Fla.
