Vivert J. Adkisson

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Vivert J. Adkisson, 77, of Galatia passed away at 3 p.m. Thursday May 27, 2010, at his residence.

He was born in Hamilton County on Sept. 6, 1932, to Ira C. and Madge (Williams) Adkisson.

Vivert graduated Galatia High School in 1949 and went on to Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where he got his bachelor of science degree.

He was a veteran of the Korean conflict. Vivert taught school at the Carrier Mills-Stonefort Elementary School, where he retired. He enjoyed working with horses and being a trader.

He is survived by his cousins, James L. Williams of Bloomington, Donna Williams Brown of Galatia, James Earl Adkisson of Galatia, Sylvia Adkisson Hawkins of Elgin and Lola Adkisson Fowler of Marion.

Funeral services are pending at the Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia.
