Kenneth Spurlock

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mr. Kenneth Spurlock, 78, of Anna, died at 2 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2010, at his home.

He was born Aug. 7, 1931, in Mitchellsville, the son of Frank and Edith Duncan Spurlock. He married Shirley Jean Treece on June 19, 1960, in Cobden.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Shirley Spurlock of Anna; three children, Alisa G. (Dave) Houseman of Anna, Kevin D. (Donna) Spurlock of Springfield and Brenda C. Mayberry of Anna; seven grandchildren, James, Michael and Steven Houseman, Sarah Mayberry, and Jenna, Carly, and Jacob Spurlock; one great- grandchild, Alexis Houseman; other relatives; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Kenneth was a member of the United Missionary Baptist Church in Lick Creek. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a lifetime member of the Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 of the VFW in Anna. He was a member of the Jonesboro Masonic Lodge No. 111 A.F. and A.M. for 50 years. He was also a member of the Anna Masonic Lodge No. 520 A.F. and A.M.; the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 522 in Anna; and the IBEW Local 702 in West Frankfort.

Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Spurlock will be at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2010, at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Pastor Paul Tirey officiating. Interment will be in the Anna Cemetery with military honors at the graveside by the Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 of the VFW in Anna and the Illinois National Guard Honors Team. Friends may call at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday, May 27, 2010. Masonic services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home by the Jonesboro Masonic Lodge No. 111 A.F. and A.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Missionary Baptist Church in Lick Creek. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
