</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[LeRoy Williams, 89, Carrier Mills, died at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2010, in the Carrier Mills Nursing Home. He was born on May 27, 1920, in Saline County to the late Ed and Mae Prather Williams. He married the former Margaret Blackman on July 9, 1938, who survives.

LeRoy was a retired coal miner and a Protestant by faith.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; a daughter, Reda Fitts of Carrier Mills; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Sandra Williams of Carrier Mills and Dale and Tampra Williams of Carrier Mills; four grandchildren, Melissa Williams of Carrier Mills, Tina Bigham of Williamstown, Ky.; Nicholas Williams of Marion and Erin Williams of Carrier Mills; a sister, Juanita Hubbard of Elizabethtown; and a brother, Fred and Barb Williams of Peoria.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, J.B. Fitts; two brothers, Leo Williams and Alfred Williams; and two sisters, Edna Griffith and Hazel Griffin.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2010, at the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. The Rev. Harl Cockrum will officiate and burial will follow in Salem Cemetery. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Friday until service time.
