Wilma K. Barnes
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Wilma K. Barnes, 89, of Marion, passed away at 3:55 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2010.
Wilma was born on May 12, 1921, in Holland, Mich., to Joseph and Fanny (Kars) Klinge. She married Gareth B. Barnes, M.D., on Nov. 14, 1942, in Holland, Mich. He preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 1987.
Wilma graduated from Holland High School and then from St. Mary's School of Nursing in Grand Rapids, Mich. in 1942 as a registered nurse.
She was a member of Disciples of Christ Christian Church in Marion and an active member of the Marion Women's Club since 1960 having served as president and other offices. She was also a strong supporter of local little league baseball. She served as secretary for many years at the Marion Bowl.
Survivors include two sons, Michael W. Barnes and wife Victoria of Springfield and Frederick J. Barnes and wife Carol of Harrisburg; six grandchildren, Jennifer Pallante and husband Tony of Marion, Susan Seidel and husband Christian of Charleston, S.C., Christopher Barnes and Ryan Barnes of Springfield, Stephanie Lee and husband Todd of Franklin, Tenn. and Amanda Back and husband Brandon of Nicholasville, Ky.; eight great-grandchildren, Ashley, A.J. and Anna Pallante of Marion, Caroline and Charlotte Lee of Franklin, Tenn., Ella and Holly Seidel of Charleston, S.C. and Molli Back of Nicholasville, Ky.; a brother, Edward Klinge and wife Jan of Holland, Mich.; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Klinge of Holland, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Johanna Dykstra, brother-in-law, Milton Dykstra; and two brothers, Al and Melvin Klinge.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2010, at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. The Rev. Bill Rucker will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service, Monday at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
