Anthony Garnett Flemmings

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Anthony Garnett Flemmings, 65, of Harrisburg, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

He was born on July 1, 1944, in Harrisburg to the late Caryle and Louise (Garnett) Flemmings. On Nov. 6, 1966, he married Lavolia Kaye Morgan, and she survives.

Anthony worked for Coleman Tri-County Services in Shawneetown, he was a transportation tech for Henderson Trucking and worked as a heavy equipment operator for Boyd Brothers Construction. He was an Air Force veteran, serving in Vietnam.

Surviving family members include his wife, Lavolia K. Flemmings of Harrisburg; three children, Toni Lynn Flemmings of Carbondale, Michael Flemmings of Harrisburg and Brad G. Flemmings of Richmond Hill, Ga.; he is also survived by a host of grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jacqueline Howard; and two brothers, Thomas C. Flemmings and William G. Flemmings.

Graveside services will precede burial at noon Monday, May 17, 2010, at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Pastor Ownly Williams officiating and American Legion rites. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Monday, May 17, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
