Gerald Davis

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mr. Gerald Davis, 68, of Raleigh, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at St. Mary&#39;s Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

He was the husband of Sarah Davis, who survives.

Gerald was born in Raleigh on Sept. 5, 1941, the son of the late Virgil H. and Dorothy (Gunter) Adams, who survives him of Harrisburg.

He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Social Brethren Church. He was a member of the Walpole Tuscan Masonic Lodge No. 630, a member of the Saline County Stockmen&#39;s Association and a supporter of Saline County 4-H.

He was a farmer and owned and operated Davis Excavating, 34 Ranch and the Raleigh Quick Mart.

In addition to his wife and mother, Gerald is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Danny) Evans of Harrisburg and Cindy (Robert) Marek of Goodview, Va.; a son, Gerald "Butch" (Christy) Davis, Jr. of Raleigh; four grandchildren, Christopher Wayde (Amy) Evans, Benjamin Evans, James Joseph (J.J.) Williams and Luke Williams; a sister, Susie (Jim) Roberts of Eldorado; and a brother, Larry (Carla) Davis of Raleigh.

Funeral services will be held at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010, with the Rev. Mark Finnie officiating. Burial will be in Raleigh Masonic Cemetery. Visitation hours are 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010, at the funeral home with Masonic Rites at 7 p.m.

In addition to flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant Social Brethren Church or the Saline County Stockmen&#39;s Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
