Herbert 'Herbie' Nunley Jr.

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Herbert "Herbie" Nunley Jr., 56, of 495 W. Roosevelt Ave., Shawneetown, passed away at his residence at 6:43 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2010.

He was born on Oct. 21, 1953, in Eldorado to Herbert Lee and Gertrude (McGill) Nunley Sr. Herbie married Violet Sue Ozee on June 19, 1974.

He worked as a barge loader for Power Inc. and for Bunge Corp. for 26 years.

Herbie is survived by his wife, Sue Nunley of Shawneetown; one daughter, April and John Owen of Sturgis, Ky.; one son, Mark Nunley of Shawneetown; three brothers, Mike and Debbie Nunley of Carmi, Roger Nunley of Eldorado and Rodney Nunley of Eldorado; one sister, Martha and Terry Potts of Eldorado; six grandchildren, Aspen Robbins, Michael Owen, Austin Robbins, Ashlie Owen, Alexis Nunley and Amanda Owen; and two great-grandchildren, Jemma and Aiden.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services for Herbie will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown with the Rev. John Owen officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation is 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010, at the funeral home.
