Franklin D. Calvert

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Franklin D. Calvert, 72, of 211 W. Roosevelt Ave., Shawneetown, passed away at 4:15 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Ridgway Manor in Ridgway.

He was born on May 4, 1937, in Shawneetown to John and Lorene (Hughes) Calvert. Frank married Virginia Kay Reynolds on July 22, 1972, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 19, 1994.

He served his country in the Air Force and was a retired electrician at the Island Creek Coal Mine.

Frank is survived by his brother, Jess Calvert of Old Shawneetown.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kay Calvert; sister, Mary Elizabeth Mulvey; and two brothers, Charles Wallace and John Wilburn Calvert.

As per his wishes, he will be cremated. There will be a graveside service at Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown, which will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010, with the Rev. Roy Dale Orr officiating. Military rites by Ridgway American Legion Post No. 596. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery. Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown in charge of arrangements.
