Orval Milton Edwards

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Orval Milton Edwards, 93, died at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Fountain View Nursing Home in Eldorado. He was born Nov. 23, 1916, in Lady Lake, Fla. to George and Pearl Edwards. On Sept. 3, 1950, he married Clara Hausser Fowler, who preceded him on March 12, 2010. His first wife, Lorrianne Wilbur, preceded him in 1939.

Survivors include four children, Jack (Trudy) Fowler of Mt. Carmel, Kim (Mona) Edwards of Eldorado, Marrianne (Vereal) Ellis of Enfield and Susan Edwards of Tampa, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Dolly (Neale) Caffin, Mathew (Trish) Fowler, Nathan (Lori) Fowler, Oliver, Tison and Julia Rhine and Braxton and Colton Edwards; seven great-grandchildren, Lora and Logan Barker, Anna, Emily, Luke, Leah and Kate Fowler; and one sister, LaRue (Burt) Cloud of Evansville, Ind.

He was member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men, the Eldorado Lions Club and the Rural Letter Carriers Association. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific with the 44th Tank Battalion Sixth Army, where he was award four campaign bronze stars for service in New Guinea, Bismark-Archipelago, Leyte Island, Luzon and the Philippines. After the war, he owned and operated an auto repair shop and retired after 29 years as a rural letter carrier with the U.S. Post Office.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2010, at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado. Funeral services will be held there at 11 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2010, followed by burial and full military rites at Wolf Creek Cemetery. For those who desire, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Eldorado.
