Gary E. McCoy
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Gary E. McCoy, 68, of Ridgway, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at his home after an extended illness.
Gary was born in East St. Louis on Jan. 1, 1942, to the late Henry and Reathel (Asa) McCoy. He served his country in Vietnam in the Marines. Gary was married to the former Betty Stennett, who preceded him in death.
Gary retired from Pfizer pharmaceuticals. Gary was a member of the New Haven American Legion. He loved to be around his family and friends and was always a very sociable person. He was a good husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend and will be missed greatly.
Gary is survived by a daughter, Stephanie (Todd) Rider of Ridgway; two sons, Cory McCoy of St. Charles, Mo. and Brian McCoy of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Evelyn Leach of O'Fallon; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; five sisters; and one brother.
Services for Gary will be starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at the Cox and Son funeral home in Ridgway. Visitation for Gary will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2010, at the funeral home. The Rev. Lyndal Sork will officiate. Interment will be in the Jackson Cemetery near Ridgway and military rites will be performed at the cemetery.
