Curtis Wesley Heflin
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Curtis Wesley Heflin, 68, New Hope Church Road, Galatia, died 10:45 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2010, at his residence.
He was born July 3, 1941, to Claude Heflin and Thursa Curtis Heflin. He married Sue Blackman on Feb. 5, 1966.
He was an Army veteran and a retired coal miner. He attended New Hope Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; five daughters, Tammi (Scott) Prather of Harrisburg, Tonya (Lonnie) Mitchell of Carrier Mills, Tina (Justin) Scott of Galatia, Cozette (David) Stricklin of Galatia and Kelly Bartley of Galatia; two brothers, Charles Heflin of Galatia and Calvin Heflin of Peotone; three sisters, Shirley Wallace of Galatia, Joann Shelton of Thompsonville and Brenda Bartley of Galatia; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters and two infant brothers.
Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 23, 2010, at Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Mike Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Thompsonville.
