Mesha J. Ervin
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mesha J. Ervin, 87, Harrisburg, died at 6 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Saline Care Center.
She was born on June 18, 1922, in Harrisburg to the late William Harl and Fern (Blackman) Oshel. Mesha married William Ervin on Oct. 7, 1945. She was preceded in death by her husband and brother.
Mesha was a member of the First Baptist Church of Harrisburg, serving as WMU past president, adult Naomi Joy Sunday School teacher and a member of the Oldies But Goodies Choir. She was co-owner of the Shawnee Hills Insurance Agency, the executive director of the Choisser Kitchen and a lifetime member of the Harrisburg Women's Club. One of her proudest moments was when she was chosen Citizen of the Year in 2004.
Mesha is survived by four daughters, Sharon (Kevin) Hess, Raleigh; Susan (William) DeVillez, Floyds Knobs, Ind.; Mesha Kay (James) Slightom, Olathe, Kan.; and Sarah (Wade ) Brammeier, Mowequa. She also is survived by nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2010, at the First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010, at First Baptist Church in Harrisburg. Burial will be at Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to First Baptist Church or Choisser Kitchen; envelopes will be available at First Baptist Church.
