Edward Griffith

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Edward Griffith, 86, Norris City, passed away at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at his residence.

He was born March 28, 1923, in Norris City, the son of James David and Annie (Acord) Griffith. He married Ella Mae Friend on Sept. 1, 1945. Edward was a graduate of Norris City High School and served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired after 30 years as custodian at Norris City-Omaha-Enfield High School.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Ella Mae Griffith of Norris City; two daughters and a son-in-law, Anna Mae Henson of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Susie and John Hawkins of Harrisburg; a sister, Mary Griffith of Norris City; seven grandchildren and spouses, Sarah and Barry Evans and Amy Henson, both of Broken Arrow, Okla., Maria and Daniel Pilkington of Eldorado, Dana and Kenny Tanner, Angie and Keith Williams, Phil and Bekah Hawkins and Bryan Edward Hawkins, all of Harrisburg; and 10 great-grandchildren, Brayden and Simon Evans, Nicholas, Katie and Jonathan Pilkington, Kailu, Brandon and Jamie Tanner and Emma and Sophie Williams.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, George, Baley, Daley and Frank Griffith.

Funeral services for Edward Griffith, 86, of Norris City, will be at 3 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010, at the Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norris City. Friends may call at the Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010.
