William Shell

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[William Shell, 84, of Shawneetown, died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at the Ridgway Manor Nursing Home in Ridgway.

William was born on March 2, 1924, in Shawneetown to the late Sherman Shell and Emma (Knowles) Shell. William was a retired coal miner working at the B&W and Pekin Coal mines. He was a good father, brother and friend.

William is survived by two sons, Larry and Bill Shell; and a daughter, Carla Shell, all of Pope County; two brothers, Sherman Shell of Shawneetown and Glendall Shell of Paxton.

Funeral services for William were 2 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2010, in Shawneetown at the Cox and Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after noon on Monday. The Rev. Jack Hall will officiate and the interment will be in Westwood Cemetery in Shawneetown.
