</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Joe Russell, 63, 427 N. Thompson St., Carrier Mills, died 3:30 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2010, at his residence.

Military rites will be performed 11 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills by the Carrier Mills and Harrisburg American Legions and the National Guard honors unit. Visitation will be held after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

He was born on Nov. 9, 1946, in Harrisburg to the late James T. Russell and Margaret (Roark) Russell. who survives. He married the former Darlene Wolfe on Feb. 14, 2010.

He was a retired oil driller. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam era and a member of the Harrisburg American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Russell of Carrier Mills; his mother, Margaret Russell of Harrisburg; a brother, Ronald (Debbie) Russell of Harrisburg; a sister, Patsy (Lowren) Biddle of Harrisburg; four stepsons, James Beckman, Michael Harrelson, Louis Romero and Royal Beckman; a grandchild, Samantha Herrelson; and several nieces and nephews.
