David W. Green

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[David W. Green died peacefully Feb. 28, 2010, with his wife by his side at their home in Kuttawa, Ky. He was 62.

Born on June 16, 1947, in Eldorado, he was the son of Alfred and Harriett (Land) Green. The family moved to Ohio before settling in Alton. He graduated in 1965 from Alton Sr. High School. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served four years, including one tour in Vietnam.

In 1972 he married Carole Massey and they moved to Juneau, Alaska. He worked at Foodland Supermarket, starting as a boxer and eventually moving up to dairy manager and then part-owner.

He enjoyed doing projects around the house in his spare time. He was also active with radio control airplanes for a number of years.

He is preceded in death by his father, Alfred Wayne Green; mother, Harriett Green Fraley; and stepfather, Oliver W. Fraley.

He is survived by his wife, Carole Green of Kuttawa, Ky.; brothers, Richard C. Green and wife Kay of Knightdale, N.C., and Michael Green of Anchorage, Alaska; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Genelle Massey of Juneau, Alaska; mother-in-law, Jeannette Massey of Alton; nieces, Laura (Joseph) Jordan of Wake Forest, N.C., Michelle Meshke of Anchorage, Alaska, Amanda Massey of Juneau, Alaska, Melinda (Kevin) Barry of Craig, Alaska, and Lonna Green of Anchorage, Alaska; and great-nieces and nephews, Patrick and James Jordan, Ella and Eamon Meshke, Blake and Gloria Bixby, Brayden Massey-Jones, and Delayna Barry.

Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, Ky., with the Rev. Troy Jent officiating.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, Ky.
