James Leo Waller

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[James Leo Waller, 82, of Du Quoin, passed away at 2:50 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

James had worked as a truck driver for Owens Transfer Company and Roadway Trucking and retired in 1987. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the Du Quoin American Legion.

He was born June 19, 1927 at Thompsonville, Ill., the son of Roman and Hazel (Hall) Waller. He married Helen R. Quinn on May 16, 1947 at Pinckneyville, Ill. and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, two sons - Randy Waller and wife Debbie and Damon Waller and wife Tammie, all of Du Quoin, daughter - Gloria Ellermeyer of Du Quoin, daughter-in-law - Cathy Waller of Du Quoin, one brother - Tommy Waller of Du Quoin, two sisters - Wanda Preston and Martha Dean, both of Du Quoin, nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son - Tommy Waller, son-in-law - Ronald Ellermeyer, and six siblings - Maxine Cutwright, Kenneth Waller, Mary Kuhnert, Billy Waller, Roma Struck, and Lorene Bernhard.

Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Pastor David Krueger officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Military graveside rites were conducted by the Du Quoin American Legion and V.F.W.
