Rose Morris
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Rose Morris, 89, of New Haven, died peacefully Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, in the Wabash Christian Center in Carmi.
Rose was born in White Plains, Ky., on March 5, 1920, to the late Edward Majors and Della (Grace) Majors. Rose was a homemaker most of life, loved to garden and was a huge Kentucky Wildcat fan. She was a General Baptist by faith and had been a member of the women's auxiliary of the New Haven American Legion. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Deloris Whitaker of New Haven; a son, Noel "Bill" and Sue Morris of Peoria; one sister, Myrtle McPherson of Greenville, Ky.; eight grandchildren, Larry Brown, Scott Brown, Lisa Hutchinson, Jessica Whitaker, Shawn Morris, Kelly Morris, Lamont Morris and Charmaine Morris; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Clifford Whitaker; five brothers; and three sisters.
A visitation for Rose will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in New Haven. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at the funeral home. The Rev. Mike Fields will officiate and burial will be in the City Cemetery in Uniontown, Ky.
