Charles Arthur Jacobs
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mr. Charles Arthur Jacobs, 70, of Eldorado, passed away at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.
He was the widower of Laverne Mae (Toppa) Jacobs who preceded him in death on July 10, 2009.
Charles was born in Flora on Sept. 24, 1939, the son of the late Dwight L. and Helen K. (Gill) Jacobs.
He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church of Eldorado.
He was employed as a physical therapist at Ferrell Hospital prior to retirement.
Charles is survived by two daughters, Natalie Ann Jacobs of Mt. Carmel and Kathlyn Mary (Barton) DeJarnett of Fairfield; a son, Jeffery Scott (Kazumi) Jacobs of Suwanee, Ga.; four grandchildren, Jenifer Jacobs, Justin Jacobs, Jacob DeJarnett and Josie DeJarnett; two sisters, Marjorie (Richard) Etienne of Channahon and Kay (Robert) Dicky of Channahon; a brother, Jack (Diane) Jacobs of Flora; and brothers- and sisters-in law, Loraine (Walter) Dobrolinsky of Huntley and Delores (Ronald) McKay of Oak Forest.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Ann Jacobs; and a brother, Ronald Jacobs.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Catholic Church in Eldorado, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010, with Fr. Ignatius Okonkwo officiating. Burial will follow in Golden Cemetery near Flora.
Visitation hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6 p.m.
