John David Lands

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[John David Lands, 58, Harrisburg, passed away at 1:05 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at Harrisburg Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

John was born on July 17, 1951, in Harrisburg to JoAnn (Vaughn) Lands and the late Bill Mac Lands. He had a former wife and a special companion, Cindy Walters of Harrisburg.

He was a 1969 graduate of Harrisburg High School. He continued his education at the University of Illinois, graduating with an engineering degree. He was a senior engineer for Boeing.

He is survived by a son, Brett (Kat) Lands; daughter, Jessica Cowgill; and grandchildren, Lily, Andrew and Adyn, all of Seattle, Wash. He is also survived by two brothers, Terry (Becky) Lands and Billy Mac Lands; nephews, Mac (Mina) Lands, Nicholas (Sara) Lands, Zachary Lands and Billy Jo Lands; nieces, Kelli (Chris) Hathaway and Amber Lands; uncle, Randy (Treva) Lands; and aunts, Vera Vaughn and Larry Lands.

John David accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior on Nov. 5, 2009.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from noon to service time Thursday at Reed Funeral Chapel.
