George P. West

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[George P. West, 80, 120 S. Land St., Harrisburg, died at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Leroy Hicks officiating. Visitation is noon to service time Sunday. Cremation will follow and burial will be at a later date.

He was born Sept. 10, 1929, in Stevenson, Ala. to the late Randall Clay and Lona May (Steel) West.

He was a retired hairdresser. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He is survived by nine children, William West of Harrisburg, Kirk West, Craig West, Lori West, Mike West, Susan Tolstyka and Angela Pyle, all of Michigan, Jan Gardner of Tennessee and Joseph West of California; a sister, Shirley Ellis of Michigan; a brother, Albert West of Tennessee; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, H.B. West.
