</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Fern L. Erwin, 85, Mount Vernon, formerly of Dahlgren, died 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Mount Vernon.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren with the Rev. Garlin Burris officiating. Burial will be in Richardson Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at the funeral home.

She was the widow of James Riley Erwin. She is survived by two sons, two daughters-in-law, a daughter, 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
