Wanda L. Parish

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Wanda L. Parish, 83, of Harrisburg, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at the Shawnee Rose Care Center.

She was born on Aug. 28, 1926, in Harrisburg to the late Roy and Helen (Sherfield) Dorris. On June 27, 1953, she married Texal Parish and he preceded her in death on June 9, 1995.

Wanda worked as a cashier at Sloan Street Market and Barnhill's Market. She was a member of Land Street Church of God and a member of the ladies' ministry at the Land Street Church of God.

Surviving family members include a daughter-in-law, Carol Nolen of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Mike Nolen and wife Karen of Carterville, Jeff Nolen and wife Shelly of Harrisburg, Krystal Watson and husband Kevin of Harrisburg and Michelle Nolen of Harrisburg; eight great-grandchildren, Jordan, Paige, Caleb, Andrea, Alexis, Kobe, Kaelin and Kelsey; brothers and sisters, Pauline Cervantes, Mildred Tedford, Norma Flannel, Kathleen Bynum, Chester Dorris, Jack Dorris and Helen Casey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two sons, Larry Nolen and Deneen Nolen.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at Reed Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Dewayne Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow in Ingram Hill Cemetery.
