James William Cappleman
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mr. James William Cappleman, 71, of Carrier Mills, passed away at 4 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, at his residence.
He was the widower of Julia (Garrett) Cappleman. They were married Aug. 21, 1971.
James was born in New Albany, Miss. on Jan. 14, 1938, the son of the late Hoyt and Marie (Chisom) Cappleman.
He served in the U.S. Army as a SP4 (T) (E4).
He worked as a electronic tester at AT&T prior to retirement.
He was a member of the Carrier Mills American Legion, VFW and Eagles Lodge.
James is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Graham of Carrier Mills; two sons, Rick (Janice) Watson of Cahokia and Ron Watson of Mascoutah; eight grandchildren, Troy, Amanda, Micah, Ryan, Ruth, Eddie, Jeff and Josh; and five great-grandchildren.
James is also survived by three sisters, Ruby Knotts of Somonauk, Brenda Medlin of North Aurora and Anna Cappleman of Mississippi; and a brother, Jimmy (Jenni) Cappleman of Louisiana.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Richardson and Karen Stepps.
Funeral services will be held at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home, Eldorado, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, with the Rev. Richard Graham officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at the funeral home.
