Charles S. Henshaw

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Charles S. Henshaw, 83, Evansville, Ind., died 8:47 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, at Deaconess Hospital, Evansville, Ind.

He was born Aug. 29, 1926, in Carrier Mills to Finis and Audie (Morse) Henshaw. He was married to Colleen L. Gilchrist.

He was a Navy veteran and owner of Henshaw's Dept. Store in Shawneetown for 40 years until his retirement in 1991.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen Henshaw of Evansville, Ind.; a brother, James Henshaw of Herrin; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harry Henshaw and A.J. Henshaw; and a sister, Sarah Tanner.

Service is 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Harl Cockrum officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Carrier Mills. Visitation is 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
