Rose Anna Ahrens
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Rose Anna Ahrens, 62 , of St. Joseph Road, Ridgway, passed away at her home at 8:35 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009.
Rose was born on Dec. 15, 1946, in Red Bud, the daughter of Frank and Lillian (Keepes) Wuertz. She married David P. Ahrens on April 16, 1966.
Before her marriage to David , she worked as a civil service executive assistant in St. Louis, Mo., and also later at the Joliet Arsenal. During her marriage she was a loving wife, mother, homemaker and grandmother.
After her children were raised she accepted a position as bank teller for Banterra Bank in Ridgway. Rose was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ridgway, St. Joseph Altar Society and American Legion Auxiliary.
Rose is survived by her loving husband, David P. Ahrens of Ridgway; three sons, Michael and Kathie Ahrens of Ridgway, Paul and Jordan Ahrens, also of Ridgway and Scott Ahrens of Bloomington; a daughter, Sara Ahrens and fiance Bill Arbaugh of Evansville, Ind.; two sisters, Marilyn Schuttenhelm of Columbia and Carol and Earl Roy of Valmeyer; three brothers, Donald and Judy Wuertz of Columbia, Bernard and Eileen Wuertz of Red Bud and Thomas and Linda Wuertz of Millstadt; sister-in-law, Jeannie Wuertz; and five grandchildren, Austin, Sidney, Valerie, Jacob and Ava.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, William and James Wuertz.
Visitation for Rose will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway with prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ridgway, 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, with Father Mark Stec officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery near Ridgway. Donations in memory of Rose may be made to Ridgway St. Joseph Building Fund, St. Joseph Cemetery Fund or VNA Hospice of Eldorado.
