Jewell Aline Davidson

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Jewell Aline Davidson, 94, of Harrisburg, went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and her loved ones at 7:55 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009.

She was born on Jan. 18, 1915 in Eldorado to the late Bill and Bertha (Edmonds) Bryant. On March 23, 1942, she married the Rev. Rufus Davidson and he preceded her in death.

Jewell worked for many years at Woolworth and Harts Department Store in Harrisburg. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and former member of Scott Street Baptist and New Hope Baptist Church, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school and being involved in W.M.U. She loved the Lord with all her heart, and all her soul and all her mind (Matthew 22:37) to the very end of her life.

She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Jean (Bill) Espinosa of Golden, Colo. and Linda Lee Summers of Harrisburg; son, Jim (Joanna) Davidson of Harrisburg; eight grandchildren, Brian (Angie) Bennett, Jeremy (Krysti) Bennett, Tammy (Ray) Gunning, Jason (Jamie) Davidson, Amy (Mike) Hawkins, Brad (Mandi) Davidson, John (Melissa) Espinosa and Gina (Jason) Fick; and 14 great-grandchildren. Jewell loved her family very much and was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, the Rev. Rufus Davidson; one son, Richard in infancy; and great-granddaughter, Audrey Fay Bennett.

Her daughter Linda said, "She was a Jewell and in the hereafter will have many jewels in her crown." A special thanks to her caregivers, Christine Bowers, Ann Cox, Evelyn Martinez, Teresa Moore, Carolyn Loveless and Dena Ward.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at Reed Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Russell Stephens will officiate and be assisted by Dr. Blaine Welker. Burial will follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009 at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Union Grove Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
