Fred Harmon Barger

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Fred Harmon Barger, Novi, Mich., 72, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 24, 2009.

Mr. Barger was born on July 25, 1937, in Harrisburg, the son of the late Hiram and Mary Barger. He was the loving brother of John (Agnes) Barger and the late Barbara Ellen Hall (Oct. 21, 2009); dear uncle of Kim (the late Dennis) Tank, Sue (James) Jeziorski and Betty (Duane) Hale; and beloved great-uncle of Jared, Jordan, Drew, Luke, Michael and Mary. He is also survived by several cousins and an aunt.

Mr. Barger retired from the General Motors Truck and Bus Engineering Group after 40 years of service. He was a charter member of the First Social Brethren Church of Pontiac, and was a deacon, adult Sunday School teacher, door keeper and enjoyed many other jobs at the church. He enjoyed bluegrass Gospel music and was a regular patron at the Walled Lake Big Boy. Mr. Barger loved the Lord with all his heart and is now reunited with his loved ones and friends that have gone on before him.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at the Riverside Chapel of the Simpson-Modetz Funeral Home in Waterford, Mich. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at Palestine Cemetery in Carrier Mills. Those wishing to attend should gather at the cemetery.
