John W. Richerson
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[John W. Richerson, 79, of Stonefort, died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home.
John was born on Dec. 4, 1929, in Pope County to the late Marion Sim and Ethel Womack Richerson. On Dec. 10, 1949, he married Betty Nicholson and she preceded him in death on Dec. 8, 1988. John was a retired coal miner and member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church near New Burnside.
John is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James and Michelle Richerson of Stonefort; four grandchildren, Tricia Richerson of Harrisburg, Traci (Johnny) Tindall of Overland Park, Kan., Angie (Shannon) Perkins of Harrisburg and Candi (Dan) Switzer of Memphis, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Caleb, Joshua, Isaac, Lydia Tindall, Zachary Perkins, Nicholas and Cate Switzer; three sisters, Roma Hill, Betty Trammell and Rita (George) Overstreet, all of Stonefort; and three brothers, Sim Richerson Jr., Paul (Connie) Richerson and Phillip (Jo) Richerson, all of Stonefort.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and daughter, Connie Heil on March 13, 1997.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009, at the Walnut Grove Church near New Burnside with the Rev. David Hancock officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills and after noon Sunday at the church.
