Dorothy Rose Starkey
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Dorothy Rose Starkey, 89, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Genoa.
She was born April 13, 1920, in Eldorado, the daughter of William and Mary (Griffin) Towle. Dorothy was a former resident of Galatia and Harrisburg. Dorothy was a graduate of Eldorado High School and a former employee of the Social Security Administration Office and Sears, Roebuck & Company Catalog office in Harrisburg.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Ronald) Gray of Genoa; her grandchildren, Steven Gray and Staci (Greg) Huxtable; her great-grandchildren, Nathan and Carli Huxtable and Samantha Gray; her nieces, Nancy Turner and Rita (Jack) Sorenson; and her nephew, John Towle.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George "Steve" Starkey on Nov. 1, 1976; her brother, Cecil Towle; her sister, Grace Pankey; and two nieces, Marilyn Towle and Jane Coyle.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home in Genoa, with the Rev. Dr. Daniel Diss officiating. A visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Private burial will be at a later date at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg.
