Genevieve Ruth Edwards Wilks

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Genevieve Ruth Edwards Wilks, 83, formerly of Galatia, Eldorado and the Detroit area of Michigan, died Aug. 20, 2004, in south San Francisco, Calif.

A graveside memorial service will be held in Raleigh Masonic Cemetery 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, with the Rev. Jack Adams officiating.

Mrs. Wilks was born July 17, 1921, in the Brushy community of Saline County, daughter of the late John B. "J.B." Edwards and the late Hazel Lorene Miller (Baker) Edwards.

She was retired from the insurance industry and was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.

Mrs. Wilks was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Wilks; her parents; a brother, James W. Edwards; and a grandson.

Survivors include her children, Charles F. (Pamela) Wilks, Vicki K. Renner and Janice L. (Michael) Riordan, all of California; Daphne Debroske and Debbie (Ronald) Davis both of Texas; Darrell L. Wilks and Linda R. (Thomas) Kmetz, both of Michigan; a brother, Samuel B. Edwards of Georgia; 20 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
