Judy Kay Vinyard

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Judy Kay Vinyard, 69, of Harrisburg, passed away 9:20 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at her residence.

She was born Nov. 11, 1939, in Harrisburg, the daughter of Kenneth Chesley and Charlotte Smith Nolen.

Judy was a well-known florist, working in Harrisburg for many years, starting out in her mother's shop. She was a member of the Harrisburg First Baptist Church and an avid Harrisburg Bulldogs fan.

Surviving Judy is her partner, Earl Whitler; son, Steve Vinyard; daughters, Julie and Larry Piche and Amy Kurtek and fiance Joe Meriweather, all of Harrisburg; two brothers, Kenneth and Sylvia Nolen and Jack and Polly Nolen; and two sisters, Joy Ann and Bill Pyle and Linda and George Henley, all of Harrisburg; 12 grandchildren, Brad Vinyard of Harrisburg and Brooke Jones of St. Louis, Mo., Ben Vinyard of Norris City, Racheal Vinyard of Harrisburg, Josh Vinyard of Metropolis, Jacob Vinyard of Metropolis, Jaci Vinyard of Metropolis, Casey Sowels of Harrisburg, Garrick Piche of Harrisburg, Kelsey Piche of Harrisburg, Haley Kurtek of Eldorado and Evan Whitler of Paducah, Ky.; and three great-grandchildren, Preston Vinyard, Lydia Vinyard and Keely Upchurch, all of Harrisburg.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte Sara Smith; son, Keith Vinyard; daughter, Lisa Vinyard Briggs; and former husband, Floyd "Dadie" Vinyard.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, at the Harrisburg First Baptist Church with the Rev. Brad Vinyard officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009, at the First Baptist Church in Harrisburg. The J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
