Howard Davis Brown
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mr. Howard Davis Brown, 75, of Slaughters, Ky., passed away at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, Ky.
He was born May 8, 1934, in Hopkins County, Ky., to the late Clarence and Mamie Davis Brown. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Karnes Brown in 1997; three sisters; and one brother.
Mr. Brown was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Madisonville. He was a truck driver for B & W Trucking as well as Ligon Trucking and a long time member of the Beulah Masonic Lodge No. 609 A.F. and A.M.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Laura Brown of Slaughters, Ky.; three daughters, Anne (Jamie) Harrell of Madisonville, Ky., Sue Corcoran of Dawson Springs, Ky. and Stephanie (Padrick) Godfrey of Mt. Dora, Fla.; five sons, Scott (Brenda) Brown of Eddyville, Ky., Bill (Anna) Brown of Madisonville, Ky., Jim (Pam) Kolze of Georgetown, Ky., Ronnie (Kathy) Stevens of Galatia and Scott Stevens of Thompsonville; one brother, Donald (Wanda) Brown of Dawson Springs, Ky.; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Lawrence Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Green Grove Cemetery in Providence, Ky. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after noon to service time Wednesday at the funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Grace Baptist Church in Madisonville, Ky. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
