Ellis 'Gene' Winters

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Ellis "Gene" Winters, 84, passed away on Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, to be with his wife, Louise Winters, who passed on Jan. 30, 2008. They would have been married 58 years on June 19.

He was born on Feb. 27, 1925, in Hardin County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Alice Winters; and two sisters, Evelyn Tite and Earling Oldham.

He is survived by one sister, Irene Moore; and a brother, James (Joyce) Winters.

Gene worked for Egyptian Beverages and Little Egypt Distributing for most of his life. Gene loved to fish, hunt for coins and he ran a successful little business, fixing lawnmowers.

He is sadly missed by one son, Dan Winters and wife Kim; and two grandchildren, Kassie and Craig Winters; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation per his request. There will be a graveside service held at Sunset Lawn Cemetery at his wife Louise's graveside at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009. Services are provided by J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home, Harrisburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations to be made to Brownsville School Special Olympics.
